On the 4th, Changnyeong County in Gyeongnam announced that former deputy governors Antaemyeong, Kim Myeonguk, and Jo Hyeonhong, who served in public office in the region, donated hometown love donation funds to Changnyeong County.

On the 3rd, the former deputy governors were recognized for their efforts in the development of Changnyeong during their tenure and were selected as honorary citizens at the 31st Changnyeong Citizens' Day event. In response, they donated hometown love donation funds for the development of their heartfelt hometown, Changnyeong, and the welfare improvement of the county residents.

The Hometown Love Donation System is a program implemented to serve as a new source of vitality for regions facing the risk of population extinction and to revitalize the local economy.

If an individual donates up to 5 million KRW annually to a local government other than their current residence, they can receive a tax credit and a gift equivalent to 30% of the donation amount. Starting next year, the individual donation limit will be expanded to 20 million KRW, and some restrictions on promotion will be eased, among other changes.

County Governor Seong Nakin said, “I congratulate the three individuals who were selected as honorary citizens of Changnyeong County in recognition of their contributions during their tenure,” and added, “We appreciate their donation of hometown love funds to Changnyeong. The entrusted donation will be used well for the welfare improvement of the county residents and the bright future construction of Changnyeong.”
