Launch of Breast Diagnostic Monitor
13 Types Including Diagnosis, Surgery, and Clinical Use
LG Electronics announced on the 4th that it plans to accelerate its business in B2B medical devices by leading with 13 types of diagnostic monitors, including mammography monitors.
The newly released diagnostic monitor features a 21-inch display with a 5MP (megapixel) high-resolution product. It is specialized for reading fine tumors and calcifications in the breast.
LG Electronics aims to target the global mammography monitor market demand with this product. According to market research firm Persistence Market Research, the global mammography market is expected to grow from $2.3 billion (approximately 3.1 trillion KRW) last year at an average annual growth rate of 11.6%, reaching $6.9 billion (approximately 9.3 trillion KRW) by 2033.
The new product offers high brightness (1100 cd/㎡) and contrast ratio (1800:1) to assist doctors in accurate readings. It provides image modes such as 'Focus View Mode,' which highlights lesion areas, and 'Pathology Mode,' which delivers clear images as if viewed under a microscope. It also supports bi-directional auto pivot, which automatically adjusts the screen content according to the monitor's rotation direction.
The new product maintains consistent color and brightness regardless of usage time through a 'Calibration Sensor' located at the lower right of the monitor without any additional device. It has received 'FDA Class 2' certification from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA).

LG Electronics offers 13 types of medical monitors, including 5 diagnostic, 5 surgical, and 3 clinical monitors. Leveraging its extensive medical monitor lineup, the company employs a 'turnkey order' strategy to supply monitor products for large medical institutions all at once. Through this, it targets the global medical display market worth approximately $2.5 billion (about 3.4 trillion KRW).
At the end of last year, LG Electronics signed a supply contract for a total of 8 types of medical monitors with the French public hospital buyers' association (CAIH). The supply scale is 10 million euros (approximately 15 billion KRW) over four years. This is the largest since LG Electronics started its medical imaging device business in 2016.
Joo-wan Cho, CEO of LG Electronics, stated at the 22nd general shareholders' meeting held on the 26th of last month that the company will accelerate growth in B2B businesses with great opportunities. Medical devices are a key B2B sector. LG Electronics operates the 'LA Business Innovation Center' in Los Angeles, USA.
Yoon-seok Lee, head of LG Electronics' IT Business Division, said, "We will provide differentiated customer experiences in the B2B medical device field by leveraging a diverse lineup of medical monitors."
