Motorcycle Without License Plate... Man Arrested for Distributing Prostitution Flyers

The police chased and apprehended a man who was distributing illegal flyers using an unregistered motorcycle without a license plate.

On the 3rd, the Gwanak Police Station in Seoul announced that they arrested a man identified as Mr. A on the evening of the 29th of last month near Seoul National University Station, in the densely packed restaurant area of "Sharosugil," on charges of violating the Minor Offenses Act, the Motor Vehicle Liability Insurance Act, and the Motor Vehicle Management Act for distributing illegal flyers.

The police received complaints from merchants about illegal flyers and, starting from the 21st of last month, conducted inquiries and reviewed nearby CCTV footage around Sharosugil to identify the mode of transportation, movement routes, and main activity times.

On the day of the arrest, two officers from the Nakseongdae Police Substation, who were on foot patrol, saw a man riding a motorcycle scattering flyers as he passed by and immediately arrested him on the spot. Approximately 2,500 illegal flyers containing phrases suggestive of prostitution were found in the motorcycle delivery box.

A police official stated, “We plan to continue strict crackdowns and preventive activities to ensure that local residents, merchants, and visitors do not suffer inconvenience from the indiscriminately scattered illegal flyers.”
