Since the 5th nationwide simultaneous local elections in 2010, KEP has predicted the outcomes of a total of 10 nationwide elections, including the 20th presidential election in 2022 and the 7th local elections.

According to the exit poll citation standards announced by KEP, the media subject to these standards include not only comprehensive programming channels, newspapers, and portals but also YouTube channels and individual broadcasting creators. Exit poll results can only be cited for regions where all three terrestrial broadcasters have announced the data, with a time delay applied. The number of seats by party can be cited after 6:30 PM, and the predicted winners of each constituency can be cited after 7:00 PM.

Kim Cheol-woo, KEP Chairman and KBS Election Broadcasting Planning Director, stated, "Exit poll results are intellectual property of the three broadcasters, and citing them without permission is illegal under the 'Act on the Prevention of Unfair Competition and Protection of Trade Secrets.' The three broadcasters have invested over 7 billion KRW despite difficult management conditions to fulfill their public duty of ensuring the public's right to know and verifying fair election management. We will do our best to protect this intellectual property."

The '22nd National Assembly Election Joint Exit Poll by the Three Broadcasters,' with a total project cost of 7.28 billion KRW, is conducted by three survey institutions: Korea Research, Korea Research, and Ipsos Corporation. On election day, from 6 AM to 6 PM, approximately 500,000 voters will be surveyed at about 2,000 polling stations nationwide, and 50,000 people will be surveyed via pre-election telephone polling for early voting predictions. The exit poll results will be announced through the three broadcasters at the election closing time of 6 PM.
