Jinyoung Supplies Materials for Air Dome Smart Farm... "Expanding Industrial Film Portfolio"

Jinyoung is diversifying its industrial film portfolio into smart farm films following semiconductors and secondary batteries. On the 2nd, Jinyoung announced that it signed a tripartite Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with ‘D&W Group’ and ‘Cheongto C&D’ to jointly develop air dome smart farm projects.

The three companies plan to establish a close cooperative system for the construction and operation of smart farm facilities domestically and internationally through this MOU. Their goal is to integrate the entire value chain?from manufacturing special films required for smart farms (Jinyoung), technical consulting and facility construction (D&W Group), to sales and smart farm operation (Cheongto C&D)?and maximize each company’s business competitiveness.

The air dome is a dome structure that forms an indoor space through air pressure, characterized by its long lifespan and strong resistance to natural disasters. It has no restrictions on installation locations and requires a shorter construction period compared to conventional buildings, making it a next-generation smart farm facility. Unlike traditional smart farm facilities such as glass greenhouses, it does not produce harmful gases while increasing agricultural production by up to three times.

Jinyoung manufactures the dual special films necessary for air dome smart farm installation. The films applied to the air dome are high-strength, high-performance films with excellent resistance to decomposition and deformation. Using funds recently raised through investment, Jinyoung plans to establish new film production facilities to manufacture special films and supply them to Cheongto C&D.

To minimize the impact of the construction market and maximize profitability, Jinyoung is diversifying its business portfolio into industrial films such as those for semiconductors and secondary batteries. The semiconductor anti-static films have completed development and are ready for supply, while the secondary battery films have entered the final testing phase.

A Jinyoung representative said, “We decided to enter the smart farm market to expand sales through diversification of industrial film products,” adding, “The air dome’s construction period is very short at six months compared to existing smart farm facilities, and it starts generating profits from three months after completion, which is an advantage.”

He continued, “The air dome smart farm can be installed regardless of climate or terrain, so we expect high export potential to regions such as Europe, the Middle East, Africa, and Mongolia,” and added, “Since we are already in the process of establishing facilities for manufacturing special films for smart farms, rapid business development will be possible.”
