On the occasion of the 2nd Library Day, Buk-gu, Gwangju Metropolitan City announced on the 2nd that from the 12th to the 18th, various reading culture events will be held at five district-run libraries (Jungheung, Ilgok, Unam, Yangsan, Sinyong).
Library Day is a statutory commemorative day designated on April 12 every year to increase residents' understanding and interest in libraries and to promote their use. To celebrate this, the week following Library Day is designated and operated as Library Week.
Accordingly, the five district-run libraries in Buk-gu have prepared a rich variety of reading culture programs under the theme "Library, Collecting Your Tomorrow" to commemorate Library Day and Library Week with residents, including ▲5 lectures ▲12 experiences ▲10 exhibitions ▲13 other programs.
First, Jungheung Library will hold 10 programs such as "Meeting with Author Shin Min-jae" and "Families Together with Books," while Ilgok Library will offer 7 programs to residents, including "Meeting with Author Haneul" and "Making My Own Book Cover."
Unam Library will operate 8 programs such as "Professor Lee Song-hee's Humanities Special Lecture (Lovers of Artists: Depicting Love and Desire)" and "Making Aroma Moss Cubes," and Yangsan Library will run 8 programs including "Lecture linked with Buk-gu Cultural Center: Meeting with Author Moon Sun-hee" and "Making Bookmarks."
Finally, Sinyong Library has prepared 7 programs such as "Professor Jo Sook-kyung's Lecture (The Nobel Prize Also Began with a Small Meeting)" and "Healing Oil Pastel Drawing."
To participate in the programs, residents can apply on a first-come, first-served basis through the Buk-gu Integrated Library website, and for more details, they can contact the Library Division of Buk-gu Office.
