Training for the 'Elementary Student Assessment Item Development Support Team' from the 3rd
Busan Metropolitan Office of Education (Superintendent Ha Yun-su) will conduct training sessions five times from the 3rd for 58 members of the 'Elementary Student Assessment Item Development Support Group' to enhance their capabilities in developing assessment items.
This training aims to improve the support group's skills to reduce the burden of assessment item development on field teachers and to support student-tailored feedback and improvements in teaching and learning methods.
Busan Office of Education will operate the training in three courses: 'Performance-based Item Development for Grades 1 and 2,' 'Multiple-choice Item Development for Grades 3 to 6,' and 'Written and Essay-type Assessment Item Development.'
The 'Performance-based Item Development for Grades 1 and 2' course will be held on the 3rd at the Busan Education Research and Information Center for 18 support group members, and the 'Multiple-choice Item Development for Grades 3 to 6' course will take place on the 8th at the same location for 40 support group members. The 'Written and Essay-type Assessment Item Development' course will be conducted online and held on the 9th, 11th, and 12th for 58 members of the assessment support group.
Participants will learn ▲ principles and practices of assessment item development ▲ understanding and analysis of curriculum and achievement standards ▲ characteristics and examples of written and essay-type items.
Ha Yun-su, Superintendent of Busan Metropolitan Office of Education, stated, "This training will greatly help strengthen customized student guidance through support for developing assessment items that objectively assess students' levels," adding, "We will do our best to enhance teachers' assessment capabilities to support students' growth and development."
