Footage captured by a Chinese civilian drone over the airspace of Sinuiju, North Korea, is drawing attention.

Recently, a Chinese individual named A posted photos and videos taken by a drone of Sinuiju, Pyonganbuk-do, North Korea, on the American social networking service (SNS) Reddit. He uploaded about 10 photos and 3 videos.

The footage included the Pyonganbuk-do Art Theater and Sinuiju Art School, where portraits of Kim Il-sung and Kim Jong-il were displayed. The art theater also featured propaganda slogans such as "Baekdu's Revolutionary Spirit" and "All-Out Offensive."

A revealed that he resides in Dandong, Liaoning Province, China. Sinuiju is a border city adjacent to Dandong, China, separated by the Yalu River.

He also stated that the footage was taken in 2020. Since it was during the COVID-19 pandemic, the streets of North Korea appeared almost deserted. Most residents were wearing masks.

The drone used for filming was a Chinese-made DJI (Dajiang) drone with a maximum altitude of 120 meters. At a low altitude, the footage captured an adult and a child, who appeared to be a father and daughter, walking along the street and looking up at the drone. However, it is presumed that the filming was not conducted with permission from North Korean or Chinese authorities.

This footage has gained significant popularity on Reddit. Netizens expressed various reactions such as "I can't believe someone thought of doing this," "It's surprising there are no sanctions," and "I hope this doesn't escalate into an international issue."
