Jeonnam Province has joined hands with local chambers of commerce to realize the region's future vision.
On the 1st, the province announced that it signed a 'Win-Win Agreement for Realizing Jeonnam Province's Future Vision' with local chambers of commerce, focusing on establishing a national medical university, fostering advanced industries, and reducing working hours during childcare periods.
The signing ceremony was attended by Governor Kim Young-rok of Jeonnam and the chairpersons of five chambers of commerce from Mokpo, Yeosu, Suncheon, Gwangyang, and Gwangju.
The main contents of the agreement include ▲ fostering future advanced industries through the creation of industrial complexes and designation of opportunity development zones ▲ reducing working hours during childcare periods and improving conditions for foreign workers ▲ establishing a national medical university in Jeonnam ▲ exemption from preliminary feasibility study for the national industrial complex for space launch vehicles in Goheung and the creation of a Space Science Complex ▲ construction of SOC such as the Yeongam-Gwangju expressway and Jeolla Line high-speed railway ▲ participation in the Hometown Love Donation System and nurturing 1 million Jeonnam Love Supporters, all aimed at opening an era of happiness for residents by achieving Jeonnam Province’s vision projects hand in hand with the chambers of commerce.
The province plans to broadly reflect the opinions of member companies of the local chambers of commerce in the progress of each vision project. The chambers of commerce are also expected to strengthen their role as partners in provincial administration and promote key projects of each chamber in connection with provincial policies, creating mutual synergy effects.
Governor Kim Young-rok said, “I feel like I have gained a great ally as the chairpersons of the local chambers of commerce have pledged to contribute their strength and wisdom to solving major provincial issues and to work together. We will vigorously and steadily push forward vision projects that will make residents happy and help Jeonnam leap onto the global stage.”
Among the five major local chambers of commerce, four?Mokpo, Yeosu, Gwangyang, and Gwangju?except Suncheon, have newly inaugurated chairpersons this year and are concretizing their own business plans. The meeting also included a time to congratulate the newly appointed chairpersons.
