Lee Se-yong, head of the Hanul Nuclear Power Headquarters at Korea Hydro & Nuclear Power, is receiving great responses as he continues open communication efforts with employees.
Now in his second year of tenure, Lee Se-yong prioritizes plant safety above all and is continuously communicating both internally and externally to address pressing issues such as the timely construction of Shin Hanul Units 3 and 4 and the continued operation of Hanul Units 1 and 2.
As part of this, he is leading a close communication program that involves directly visiting field department employees to foster a proud organizational culture.
Starting in February with communication sessions with senior staff at the No. 1 power plant, Lee Se-yong has been touring various power plants and construction sites to maintain open communication, promising to review and take action on over 100 suggestions gathered from listening to the vivid voices from the field, including improvements to working conditions and support for safe operations.
He also emphasized that to resolve the issues at the Hanul Headquarters, it is important for senior staff to lead by example and demonstrate leadership based on communication and empathy, and pledged to continuously provide programs that cultivate expertise and responsibility.
To this end, since 2022, the Hanul Nuclear Power Headquarters has been conducting ‘Leadership Workshops’ for executives to strengthen expertise and communication skills for safe nuclear power plant operations and coexistence with local communities.
Lee Se-yong stated, “By improving employees’ working environments to increase satisfaction and sharing the company’s vision and core values through continuous communication, we will create a safe nuclear power plant that the public trusts.”
