Wando-gun Recruiting Garden Participants for 'Jeonnam Garden Festival' Participation

Held from the 1st to the 31st of next month... Creation of 30 Participating Gardens with the 'Tiny House Garden' Concept

Wando-gun, Jeollanam-do is recruiting participants for the ‘4th Jeollanam-do Garden Festival’ until the 8th.

According to the county on the 1st, the ‘4th Jeollanam-do Garden Festival’ is an event held to create a city where local residents’ daily lives and gardens coexist. Following last year, it will be held from the 1st to the 31st of next month at Wando Beach Park.

A total of 30 participating gardens are planned to be created for this festival. The theme for the participating gardens was selected as ‘Tiny House Garden: Gardens like Small Houses’ to foster a sustainable garden culture, encouraging visitors to the garden festival to apply what they see in their own homes.

Anyone interested in and experienced with garden creation is eligible to participate.

Submitted works will be judged, and a total of nine teams will be selected, including one grand prize winner, three excellence awards, and six merit awards, which will be presented at the festival opening ceremony.

The selected participating gardens will be created at the beach park area from the 25th to the 30th and exhibited throughout the festival period.

A county official said, “We look forward to active participation not only from local residents but also from garden and landscaping experts in this Jeonnam Garden Festival,” adding, “We will do our best to prepare an event that highlights the unique beauty of Wando.”

Meanwhile, last year’s ‘3rd Jeonnam Garden Festival’ held in Wando-gun was the first in Korea to be held on a beach site and featured over 50 distinctive gardens, receiving great acclaim from visitors and leading to an extension of the exhibition period.
