Aiming to Bridge the Gap in 'Legal Services' Between Regions and the Capital Area
Partner Lawyer Park Jaewan Appointed as Deputy Center Director
Law Firm YK (Representative Lawyers Kang Kyung-hoon and Kim Beom-han) announced on the 1st that it has recruited Representative Lawyer Lee In-seok (Judicial Research and Training Institute Class 27) and Partner Lawyer Park Jae-wan (Class 38) to fully launch the Digital Content Center (hereinafter DC Center).
Lee, a former chief judge who will serve as the head of the DC Center, served as a judge at the Seoul Central District Court and the Seoul High Court, and worked as a criminal review officer at the Court Administration Office. He also served as a writing committee member for fair trade judgment drafting practice and an editorial committee member for the Court Practice Summary (Criminal).
Since retiring in 2021, Representative Lawyer Lee has been recognized as a litigation expert combining theory and practice, having served as co-head of the Fair Trade Group at Law Firm Kwangjang, handling fair trade cases and corporate-related litigation.
Additionally, Representative Lawyer Lee will concurrently serve as the head of both the DC Center and the Fair Trade Center. He stated, "Quick initial response and high quality determine the success or failure of a case," adding, "By combining my experience and knowledge with YK’s system, I will strive to develop the center into one that provides premium legal services with swift response and high quality."
Partner Lawyer Park will serve as the deputy head of the DC Center. Having worked as a litigation specialist at Law Firm Kwangjang, Park has extensive experience in corporate, defense industry, administrative, and public contract fields, including cases such as ▲threatening phone calls about aircraft bomb installation ▲embezzlement cases involving corporate heads ▲construction payment and defect-related litigation.
With the recruitment of these two lawyers, YK is strengthening the capabilities of the DC Center. The DC Center plans to provide high-quality legal services uniformly across the country.
Currently, 10 lawyers belonging to the DC Center at YK are compiling various types of cases received through 27 branch offices nationwide into a database. Following the expansion of the DC Center, this will be digitized so that artificial intelligence (AI) can draft legal documents, enhancing speed and accuracy, while lawyers save time and energy previously spent on drafting, allowing them to invest more time in clients and improve the quality of legal services.
Representative Lawyer Kim Beom-han said, "We expect that recruiting lawyers with abundant experience and expertise will significantly enhance the operational capabilities of the newly launched DC Center."
He added, "Currently, the DC Center operates only for civil and family cases, but with this recruitment, the ultimate goal is to apply it to a wider range of cases, including criminal cases, and to provide equal services to all clients without leaving anyone behind."
