Gyeonggi Province will invest 235.5 billion KRW by next year to install city gas pipelines over 421 km in areas within the province where city gas supply is currently insufficient.
Based on construction plans submitted by six city gas providers in the province, including Samchully Co., Ltd., Gyeonggi Province established a two-year construction plan for city gas supply facilities containing these details and announced it on the Gyeonggi Province website on the 29th of last month, the province stated on the 1st.
The areas where new city gas pipelines will be installed include 556 city gas non-supplied regions within the province, such as the Yanggi 2 District in Gongdo-eup, Anseong City, and the Yeoju Neungseo Station area in Sejong Daewang-myeon, Yeoju City. Upon completion of the construction, approximately 171,000 households will receive city gas supply.
This year, Gyeonggi Province will invest a total project cost of 124.7 billion KRW to install 217 km of city gas pipelines, and next year, it will invest 110.8 billion KRW to additionally install 204 km of city gas pipelines.
Detailed supply facility construction plans by city and county can be confirmed through the respective city/county offices or city gas companies.
Cha Seong-su, Director of the Climate, Environment and Energy Bureau of Gyeonggi Province, said, "The expansion of city gas supply is expected to further improve residents' living conditions and help reduce heating costs," adding, "We will continue to make efforts to enhance energy welfare for the residents."
