Shinsegae Department Store Times Square Branch, Overseas Contemporary Specialty Hall Gets a 'New Look'

Plans to Showcase Domestic and British Contemporary Specialists in the Future

Shinsegae Times Square announced on the 1st that it has newly renovated the 2nd-floor overseas contemporary specialty hall. By attracting a large number of overseas fashion brands that are very popular among the 2030 generation, it plans to target ‘MZ (Millennial + Gen Z)’ customers.


Among all Shinsegae Department Store locations, Times Square has the highest proportion of young customers. This is because it is located very close to the complex shopping mall Times Square, which houses a movie theater, a large supermarket, a bookstore, and popular restaurants all in one place. The proportion of customers aged 30 and under is 47%, far exceeding the average of all stores (41%).

The overseas contemporary specialty hall has increased its operating area by about 10% compared to before, and the interior has been redesigned in a luxury boutique style to provide a more comfortable and relaxed shopping experience.


The store locations were also changed so that customers can enjoy overseas contemporary brands 'one-stop' on a single floor. Six brands including ‘Theory’, ‘Sandro’, ‘Maje’, and ‘Zadig & Voltaire’, which were previously located on the 3rd floor, have moved to the 2nd floor.


‘Maison Kitsun?’, symbolized by the fox logo, and France’s representative contemporary brand ‘A.P.C.’ have newly opened. ‘Enfold’, known for its soft and elegant silhouettes, and ‘Weekend Max Mara’, Max Mara’s casual collection brand, have also joined. The French workwear brand ‘Le Mont Saint Michel’, boasting over 100 years of history, will open a store at Times Square following its Shinsegae Gangnam location.


Starting with the overseas contemporary specialty hall, Times Square plans to sequentially introduce domestic contemporary and young contemporary specialty halls. A Shinsegae Department Store official said, "It will become a landmark visited by MZ customers nationwide, as well as customers from Seoul’s southwestern areas including Yeongdeungpo and Yeouido."


Meanwhile, to celebrate the renovation, Shinsegae has prepared abundant shopping benefits such as brand-specific discounts and purchase gifts. Maison Kitsun? offers a 50,000 KRW discount on purchases over 500,000 KRW, and a 10% discount when purchasing at least one item from the Baby Fox line. Customers who purchase over 500,000 KRW on a first-come, first-served basis can receive an eco bag worth about 150,000 KRW. Marc Jacobs offers a 10% discount, Le Mont Saint Michel 5%, and Zadig & Voltaire provides a 10% discount on purchases of 500,000 KRW, 1,000,000 KRW, and 2,000,000 KRW.
