Wildfire in DMZ, Inje-gun, Gangwon... Extinguished Around 4 PM

The forestry authorities extinguished a wildfire that occurred in the Demilitarized Zone (DMZ) of Inje-gun, Gangwon Province.

According to the forestry authorities on the 31st, the wildfire broke out around 12:14 PM in Gajeon-ri, Seohwa-myeon, Inje-gun, Gangwon Province, within the DMZ. The forestry authorities deployed two helicopters and reported that the fire was put out around 4 PM.

The fire area is located 410 meters south of the Military Demarcation Line and is known to be 1.2 km away from the nearest frontline guard post (GP).

The damage area is estimated by the Korea Forest Service helicopters to be about 5,000 square meters, and the exact scale is under investigation.
