President Yoon Attends Easter Joint Worship for 3 Consecutive Years
Will Listen to the Small Voices of the People
President Yoon Suk-yeol emphasized on the 31st, "We are currently facing serious challenges and crises both inside and outside the country. At times like this, we must all reflect on the true meaning of resurrection and practice it together."
President Yoon made these remarks during his congratulatory address at the 'Korean Church Easter Joint Worship Service' held at Myeongseong Church in Gangdong-gu, Seoul, in the afternoon. The Easter Joint Worship Service has been held since 1947, when the first service was conducted at Namsan, to celebrate the resurrection of Jesus and share joy with the whole world.
This marks President Yoon's third attendance at the Easter Joint Worship Service, following 2022 and last year. The service proceeded with a sequence including the opening address by Pastor Jang Jong-hyun, hymns, representative prayers, scripture readings, and a sermon by Pastor Lee Cheol. President Yoon celebrated the joy of resurrection and prayed together with the congregants attending the service.
President Yoon stated, "Jesus showed infinite love that liberates humanity from sin through the cross and resurrection," adding, "Practicing the spirit of love and solidarity so that everyone can enjoy true freedom is the path to fulfilling the true meaning of resurrection."
He continued, "Together with the government, I will enter deeply among the people with a humbler attitude and listen attentively even to the smallest voices of the people," and said, "I will warmly care for and support those who are struggling and having a hard time so that they can stand up."
