Hanyang Bakery has begun full-scale production after constructing a factory in Andong, the hometown of CEO Lee Jung-rak.
Hanyang Confectionery, which completed its factory in Andong, was founded in 1980 in Seongsu-dong, Seoul. It holds a patent application for scorched rice candy and produces 47 types of candies and 4 types of caramels, distributing a total of 150 items including OEM snacks. Previously located in Dongducheon, Gyeonggi Province, Hanyang Confectionery now has manufacturing facilities through the construction of a 3,000㎡ factory in Pungsan-eup, Andong City, and is set to produce various candies in earnest.
Lee Jung-rak, CEO of Hanyang Confectionery, said, “Through this factory completion, we have the will to firmly establish our roots in my hometown Andong with a renewed spirit.” He added, “Hanyang Confectionery aims to create distinctive products called K-CANDY using unique ingredients processed from domestic root fruits and other agricultural products, thereby further promoting the Hanyang Confectionery brand.”
Mayor Kwon Ki-chang stated, “With today’s factory completion ceremony of Hanyang Confectionery, our Andong has taken a step forward as a corporate city where jobs are created and the economy is revitalized.” He continued, “The significance is even greater in that it represents a handshake of coexistence between local companies and residents, especially through the effect of job creation.”
