Schaeffler Co-Leads... 'GO~ for 3 Consecutive Tournament Wins' Scottie Scheffler

On the 30th (local time), at the Memorial Park Golf Course (par 70, 7,435 yards) in Houston, Texas, USA, during the third round of the PGA Tour Texas Children's Houston Open (total prize money $9.1 million), Scheffler shot a 4-under 66 to rise to a tie for the lead (9-under 201). Thomas Detry (Belgium), Stephan J?ger (Germany), and two others joined this group, setting up a fierce competition for the championship.

Scheffler started from a tie for 4th place, 4 strokes behind, and recorded eight birdies, two bogeys, and one double bogey. After a birdie on the 3rd hole (par 5), he lost a stroke with a bogey on the 4th hole, then climbed sharply with birdies on the 6th hole (par 4), a streak of three consecutive birdies from the 8th to 10th holes, and another birdie on the 12th hole (par 4). However, bogeys on the 13th hole (par 4) and a double bogey on the 15th hole (par 3), where his tee shot landed in the water, were disappointing. He regained momentum with back-to-back birdies on the 16th and 17th holes, reclaiming the top spot on the leaderboard.

Scheffler excelled with an average of 1.54 putts per green in regulation (3rd best). Leading by one stroke in a tie for first, he is poised for his third win of the season and ninth career victory. Having won consecutively at the Arnold Palmer Invitational and The Players Championship, he is now aiming for a three-peat at this tournament.

Nick Dunlap and Ryan Moore (both USA) are tied for 6th place (8-under 202), eyeing a comeback. Defending champion Tony Finau (USA) finished the third round tied for 9th place, two strokes behind (7-under 203). Among Koreans, Kim Si-woo holds the best position, tied for 22nd (3-under 207). Lee Kyoung-hoon and Kim Sung-hyun are tied for 34th place (2-under 208) respectively.
