Promotion and Guidance on Safety Hazardous Acts... Intensive Crackdown Until May 24
Buan Maritime Police Station (Chief Seo Young-gyo) announced on the 30th that it will conduct intensive safety management of multi-use vessels during the spring outing season.
According to Buan Maritime Police, in preparation for the increase in anglers and passenger boat users visiting the sea in spring and adverse weather conditions such as agricultural fog and low visibility, they plan to implement proactive intensive safety management.
The key safety management areas include inspecting the operation status of navigation and communication equipment, life-saving and fire-fighting equipment, and the safety management status of piers for cruise ships. For fishing boats, pre-departure inspections and patrol activities in vulnerable areas will be strengthened.
Fishing boats will undergo a publicity and guidance period against safety violations until the 31st, followed by intensive crackdowns from April 1 to May 24. Main five major violations are ▲overloading ▲drunk navigation ▲violation of business zones ▲non-operation of location transmission devices ▲failure to verify passenger identity.
Chief Seo Young-gyo stated, "Since the number of multi-use vessel passengers increases in spring, raising the risk of maritime accidents, we will do our best to prevent accidents through thorough safety management," and urged, "Maritime workers and users must strictly follow safety rules to prevent accidents."
