On the 30th, the Nonhyeon Police Station in Incheon announced that it confirmed additional crimes committed by Mr. A, a man in his 40s, for whom an arrest warrant was requested on charges of trespassing and violating the Communications Privacy Protection Act. Mr. A is suspected of secretly entering more than 40 early voting stations for the April 10 general election across various regions including Seoul, Busan, Incheon, Ulsan, Gyeongnam, Daegu, and Gyeonggi from early this month until recently, and installing illegal cameras.

Among the targeted facilities were locations used as counting centers during the general election or places previously used as early voting stations. Many of Mr. A’s cameras were disguised as communication devices by attaching stickers bearing the names of specific telecommunications companies to charging adapter-shaped devices. It was found that he installed these cameras inside polling stations, such as next to water purifiers, to film the interior.

Mr. A, who has been active as a YouTuber, continuously raised suspicions of election fraud. It was also confirmed that he installed cameras inside early voting stations during the 2022 presidential election and last year’s by-election for the Gangseo District Office in Seoul, capturing footage inside.

The police are expanding their investigation, believing that there are still undiscovered illegal cameras installed by Mr. A.
