To this end, the county has established detailed strategies including ▲ enhancing satisfaction with construction administrative services and balanced development of areas around dams and power plants ▲ creating a pleasant street environment and building road infrastructure ▲ expanding agricultural infrastructure for stable water supply ▲ environmentally friendly river maintenance harmonized with nature and environment ▲ expanding resident convenience facilities to build a happy Cheongsong that is good to live in. These are expected to greatly contribute to realizing “One Cheongsong, a leap beyond!”

First, to promote balanced development around dams and power plants, the county will invest 770 million KRW in support projects for dam areas and 290 million KRW in support projects for power plant areas. With this budget, the county plans to lead the improvement of residents’ welfare by promoting livelihood infrastructure projects to increase income for local residents who have suffered indirect damage from dam and power plant construction.

In addition, by promptly handling construction administrative complaints, the county aims to increase citizen satisfaction and create a stable construction environment, accelerating the development of the local construction industry and contributing to the establishment of a fair construction culture.

Secondly, the county plans to improve roads within its jurisdiction to enhance traffic safety and convenience for residents. With a project budget of 2.9 billion KRW for county and rural roads maintenance projects, the county will provide a safe and pleasant road environment through road widening and paving, alignment improvements, and asphalt overlay. It will also install speed display signs, yellow carpets, and anti-slip pavement in school zones to prevent traffic accidents and create safe school routes.

Furthermore, with a budget of 380 million KRW, detailed safety inspections will be conducted on Class 2 facilities (bridges longer than 100 meters) such as Gwangdeokgyo Bridge (Jinbo-myeon), Mapyeonggyo Bridge (Juwangsan-myeon), and Eocheongyo Bridge (Pacheon-myeon). Repair work will be carried out on Cheongsonggyo Bridge (Cheongsong-eup), Chuganggyo Bridge (Hyeondong-myeon), Songgang 2 Bridge (Pacheon-myeon), and Deokcheon Bridge (Pacheon-myeon) to ensure bridge stability. Other bridge facilities will also be continuously managed and maintained through regular safety inspections to prevent safety accidents.

Thirdly, to ensure smooth agricultural water supply, 2.252 billion KRW will be invested in farmland infrastructure improvement projects in drought-prone areas such as Jisori in Andeok-myeon and Mogaeri Jinae in Hyeonseo-myeon, specifically in the Manan and Durugol districts (Manan district 1,252, Durugol 1,000). Water facilities such as bedrock wells and utilization facilities will be installed to secure and supply agricultural water, alleviating drought damage on 54.8 hectares of farmland.

Additionally, this year, the county plans to complete the small-scale rural water development project in Geodujigu (7.4 billion KRW), the farmland infrastructure improvement project in Gudeok district, Jisori, Andeok-myeon (18 hectares), and repair work on Gomu Valley in Gaeil-ri. Along with this, 7.6 billion KRW will be spent to repair and maintain 64 aging reservoirs and agricultural infrastructure facilities, which is expected to improve agricultural productivity and farming conditions significantly.

Fourthly, the county will invest 7.7 billion KRW in disaster risk improvement district maintenance projects, 4.7 billion KRW in small stream maintenance projects (real units), 700 million KRW in river facility maintenance and general river repair projects, and 1.8 billion KRW in river and small stream maintenance projects. These proactive measures aim to prevent natural disasters and protect the lives and property of residents.

In addition, to permanently restore damage caused by Typhoon Khanun, the county will invest 1.5 billion KRW of its own funds. To preserve an eco-friendly river ecosystem harmonized with nature and environment and improve water quality, 900 million KRW will be used to continuously maintain sediment and driftwood in rivers within the jurisdiction.

Finally, focusing on areas with inconveniences in daily life, the county will invest 9.6 billion KRW in 263 small-scale resident-requested projects such as village road repairs, farm road paving, stream maintenance, and small bridge construction to swiftly address long-standing local demands.

Through a signboard improvement project covering 43 locations on Jinbo-ro in Jinbo-myeon (towards Ichon-ri) and 134 locations in Bunam, Hyeondong, Hyeonseo, and Andeok-myeon, the county aims to reorganize old and indiscriminately proliferated signboards to create a bright and pleasant urban environment.

Moreover, a comprehensive survey of small-scale public facilities throughout Cheongsong-gun will be conducted to accurately grasp the current status of facilities. Based on risk analysis by facility type, systematic and continuous maintenance plans will be established to prevent disasters and resolve residents’ inconveniences in advance. The database built on this foundation is expected to play a significant role as basic data for securing national and local government budgets for small-scale hazardous facility maintenance.

County Governor Yoon Kyung-hee stated, “We will boost residents’ willingness to settle through improvements in living environments and agricultural infrastructure, and further create a comfortable and safe living environment for all residents to enhance regional population vitality and respond to population decline. Based on this, we will do our best to lay the foundation for building a happy Cheongsong.”
