Samil PwC announced on the 29th that it will hold a seminar titled "Response Measures to European ESG Disclosure Regulations (Focusing on Actual Cases)" at 2 p.m. on the 26th of next month in Amore Hall on the 2nd floor of its headquarters in Yongsan-gu, Seoul, featuring ESG experts from Korea and Europe.
This seminar is organized to comprehensively review domestic and international ESG disclosure standards and to provide a detailed explanation of the European Union (EU) Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD) and the European Sustainability Reporting Standards (ESRS), which are known to be the most extensive and complex among ESG disclosures.
Additionally, there will be a session explaining how to calculate financial information using the EU Taxonomy, which is often challenging for corporate practitioners. In particular, ESG experts from PwC Netherlands attending the seminar will present actual application cases of the EU CSRD and ESRS and review the preparations Korean companies need to make.
In the first topic presentation session, Miyeop Kwon, Partner at Samil PwC, will lecture on "KSSB and Global ESG Disclosure Standards," and Jinkyu Lee, Partner, will speak on "EU CSRD and ESRS."
Following this, Youngchang Yoon, Partner at PwC Consulting, will present on the "EU Taxonomy," and Alexander Spek, Partner at PwC Netherlands, will discuss "Progress in Europe." During the subsequent Q&A session, the experts who presented earlier will attend to address questions from corporate representatives regarding actual company cases, ESG disclosure preparation methods, and regulatory response strategies.
Steven Kang, Vice President of the ESG Platform and planner of this seminar, said, "With the three major global ESG disclosure standards all established and Korea’s ESG disclosure standards about to be finalized, only the implementation of ESG disclosures by companies remains." He added, "We hope this seminar, featuring ESG experts from Korea and Europe, will provide a detailed understanding of ESG disclosure preparations and serve as an opportunity to pursue new growth beyond mere regulatory compliance."
The seminar will be available both for on-site attendance and YouTube live viewing, and registration can be made on the Samil PwC website until April 19.
