Promise of Mutual Growth through Exchange and Cooperation
On the 28th, Ulleung-gun in Gyeongbuk and Gimpo City signed a sisterhood agreement ceremony for mutual development and expanded exchange at the Gimpo City Hall's main conference room.
This agreement ceremony was realized for the mutual development of the two local governments after discussions began with Gimpo City's proposal for sisterhood last September, the Gimpo City delegation's attendance at the Ulleungdo Snow Festival in February this year, and four rounds of working-level consultations.
The ceremony was attended by Nam Han-kwon, Ulleung-gun governor, Kim Byung-su, Gimpo mayor, Kim In-su, chairman of the Gimpo City Council, Seon Jong-woo, president of the Seoul-Gimpo Hometown Association, presidents of the sports associations from both regions, and senior officials, who discussed various cooperation plans and exchange programs for mutual development and signed the agreement.
Governor Nam Han-kwon said, “Through this sisterhood agreement, we plan to further strengthen the friendly relationship between the two local governments and promote various cooperative projects for regional development in the future. We hope to activate exchanges between the two cities and continue a sisterhood relationship that is practically supportive to each other.”
With this sisterhood agreement ceremony as a turning point, Ulleung-gun and Gimpo City are expected to build a closer relationship through exchanges and cooperation in various fields such as tourism, culture, sports, economy, and specialty products, leading to mutual development.
