Candidate Kim Won-i's Official Election Campaign Launch Ceremony... Over 500 Attend in the Rain

Moon Yong-jin and Choi Il-gon Preliminary Candidates Included, Unified Election Committee Launched

"We Will Become the Vanguard Fighting Against the Prosecutorial Dictatorship Regime"

Kim Won-i, the Democratic Party of Korea candidate for Mokpo City in the 22nd general election, held an election kickoff ceremony on the morning of the 28th at the Formo Cube intersection, the first day of the official election campaign.


The kickoff ceremony was attended by about 500 supporters and citizens, including members of the election countermeasures committee (hereinafter referred to as the election committee), Mokpo city and provincial council members, and volunteers. Speakers included Bae Gwang-eon, former chairman of the Jeonnam Provincial Council and standing election committee chairman for candidate Kim Won-i, Moon Yong-in, former preliminary candidate Choi Il-gon, Jeon Gyeong-seon, provincial council member (general director of the standing election committee headquarters), and Kim Seo-yeon, chairman of the Jeonnam Provincial Party's university student committee, who appealed for support for candidate Kim Won-i.

At the kickoff ceremony, candidate Kim Won-i declared, "I will become the vanguard who first fights against the prosecutorial dictatorship regime obsessed only with shielding Mrs. Kim Geon-hee, and will create a wind of regime change," and also outlined the campaign direction by saying, "I will do my best for the uninterrupted development of Mokpo. I will take the lead for communication, coexistence, and a united Mokpo."


Meanwhile, candidate Kim Won-i's campaign appointed Park Ji-won, former director of the National Intelligence Service, as honorary election committee chairman; Moon Yong-jin, former preliminary candidate Choi Il-gon, and Yoon Yang-deok, advisor to the Democratic Party of Korea Mokpo regional committee, as standing election committee chairmen.


Lee Chun-woong and Lee Wan-sik were appointed as standing advisors to the election committee, along with former Mokpo Mayor Kim Jong-sik and former Mokpo National Assembly member Lee Sang-yeol. Additionally, 47 current and former city and provincial council members, including Kim Geun-jae, Moon Kyung-yeon, Moon Sang-soo, Moon Jang-bu, Park Byung-seop, Park Seong-won, Park Soo-kyung, Bae Jong-beom, Oh Seung-won, Lee Hyuk-je, Lim Tae-seong, Jang Bok-seong, Jang Song-ji, and Choi Il (in alphabetical order), were appointed as co-chairmen of the election committee.
