Choi Min-jung (33), the second daughter of Choi Tae-won, chairman of SK Group, has been confirmed to have founded a healthcare startup in the United States.
According to the business community on the 28th, Choi recently established an artificial intelligence (AI)-based mental health healthcare startup called 'Integral Health' in the U.S.
Integral Health is currently partnering with healthcare institutions and health insurance companies in the U.S., providing programs that manage mental health. In particular, it offers a solution that effectively manages mental health by matching members with psychotherapists and AI-based care coordinators.
The startup was founded by Choi along with mental health experts who hold medical doctorates from Yale University and PhDs from UC Berkeley.
Choi is known to have decided to start the startup to address social issues such as the fact that many modern people suffer from psychological problems. She stated, "Mental health is the biggest factor affecting physical health," and added, "In a global aging society, a large-scale solution to manage health is essential for future generations."
Choi, the second daughter of Chairman Choi, attracted attention when she voluntarily enlisted as a naval officer in 2014. She was discharged in November 2017, worked at a Chinese investment company, and from August 2019, worked at SK Hynix. Since taking a leave of absence from SK Hynix in February 2022, she has mainly stayed in the U.S., volunteering to provide free education to vulnerable middle and high school students in the local area through a San Francisco-based nonprofit organization (NGO) called 'SMART.'
An SK Group official stated, "We understand that she recently resigned from SK Hynix and is currently working at a startup."
