[2024 Asset Disclosure] Vice Minister Jang Miran 910 Million KRW... Kim Daejin, President of Korea National University of Arts, 16.6 Billion KRW '3 Billion KRW Increase in One Year'

Jeon Byeong-geuk, the 1st Vice Minister of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, and Jang Mi-ran, the 2nd Vice Minister, saw their assets increase by 48.89 million KRW and 215.59 million KRW respectively. Yoo In-chon, the Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism, was not included in this disclosure as he reported assets of 16.99854 billion KRW in January this year due to a change in his status as a high-ranking public official.

According to the '2024 Regular Asset Changes of Public Officials' published in the government gazette by the Public Service Ethics Committee on the 28th, Vice Minister Jeon reported assets totaling 1.68269 billion KRW, an increase of 48.9 million KRW compared to his previous declaration. His real estate assets included an apartment in Goyang-si, Gyeonggi-do under his name valued at 627 million KRW and a jeonse (lease) right for an apartment in Wanju-gun, Jeollabuk-do under his spouse's name valued at 290 million KRW, totaling 917 million KRW in building assets. He also declared land assets worth approximately 311.254 million KRW, including a plot and farmland in Guji-myeon, Dalseong-gun, Daegu, under his spouse's name.


Vice Minister Jang Mi-ran's assets were confirmed at 909.05 million KRW, an increase of 215.6 million KRW from the previous declaration of 693.45 million KRW. Her land assets totaled 142.75 million KRW, including a new jeonse lease right for a building in Sindang-dong, Jung-gu, Seoul valued at 725 million KRW, a terminated lease right for an apartment in Yongin-si, Gyeonggi-do valued at 280 million KRW, a field in Pyeongchang-gun, Gangwon-do under her name valued at 92.75 million KRW, and forest land in Hoengseong-gun valued at 50 million KRW.

Kim Dae-jin, President of Korea National University of Arts, reported assets totaling 16.61819 billion KRW, an increase of 3.04968 billion KRW from the previous year, ranking 5th among central government officials. He holds the second-largest amount among heads of public-related organizations. His building assets include a townhouse in Seocho-gu, Seoul jointly owned by him and his spouse, and a commercial building in Seocho-gu under his spouse's name, valued at 9.775202 billion KRW. Deposits held by him, his spouse, and mother totaled 3.7954949 billion KRW, and securities held by his spouse and mother amounted to 8.903997 billion KRW. The significant increase in assets is attributed to the substantial rise in the value of unlisted stocks held by his spouse.


Kim Seong-hee, Director of the National Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art, reported assets totaling 8.59434 billion KRW, an increase of 279.45 million KRW from the previous declaration, ranking 8th among heads of public-related organizations. She declared land assets worth approximately 2.73 billion KRW, including land in Seongbuk-gu under her name, land and fields in Pyeongchang-gun, Gangwon-do and Dangjin-si, Chungnam under her spouse's name, and land in Seongbuk-gu under her eldest son's name.


Her building assets included an apartment in Seodaemun-gu under her name and an apartment in Apgujeong-dong, Gangnam-gu under her spouse's name, totaling 2.749 billion KRW. Deposits held by her, her spouse, and eldest son amounted to 2.731719 billion KRW, and securities totaled 1.682478 billion KRW. Her debts, including financial debts and building rental debts of her and her spouse, totaled 1.365034 billion KRW.


Yoo Byung-chae, Director of the Cultural Arts Policy Office, reported assets of 3.4569 billion KRW, an increase of 580,000 KRW, while Jeong Yong-wook, Director of the General Affairs Office, reported assets of 3.02008 billion KRW, a decrease of 257.04 million KRW.


Yoon Seong-yong, Director of the National Museum of Korea, reported assets of 988.65 million KRW, an increase of 79.45 million KRW, and Jang So-won, Director of the National Institute of the Korean Language, reported assets of 3.08217 billion KRW, a decrease of 60.05 million KRW. Kim Young-woon, Director of the National Gugak Center, reported assets of 1.3596 billion KRW, a decrease of 89.17 million KRW, and Kim Young-san, CEO of Grand Korea Leisure, reported assets of 621.36 million KRW, an increase of 49.86 million KRW.


Jo Hyun-rae, President of the Korea Creative Content Agency, reported assets of 2.31502 billion KRW, an increase of 15.56 million KRW, and Jang Hyung-jun, President of the Seoul Arts Center, reported assets of 2.53725 billion KRW, a decrease of 225.47 million KRW.


Baek Hyun-joo, President of Gugak FM, reported assets of 71.02 million KRW, an increase of 128.45 million KRW, Jang Dong-kwang, President of the Korea Craft & Design Foundation, reported assets of 28.19 million KRW, a decrease of 27.16 million KRW, Kim Jun-hee, President of the Korea Publishing Culture Industry Promotion Agency, reported assets of 3.02948 billion KRW, a decrease of 73.83 million KRW, and Park Eun-sil, President of the Korea Arts & Culture Education Service, reported assets of 2.58185 billion KRW, a decrease of 82.58 million KRW.


Jeong Byeong-guk, Chairman of the Korea Arts Council, reported assets of 941.64 million KRW, a decrease of 645.84 million KRW, Lee Hae-young, Chairman of the Sejong Institute Foundation, reported assets of 5.12984 billion KRW, a decrease of 62.62 million KRW, Kim Hong-jun, Director of the Korean Film Archive, reported assets of 2.3858 billion KRW, a decrease of 356.04 million KRW, Hong Hee-kyung, Director of the Korea Culture Information Service Agency, reported assets of 3.73972 billion KRW, an increase of 104.39 million KRW, and Park Jeong-ryeol, Director of the Copyright Protection Agency, reported assets of 4.25224 billion KRW, a decrease of 93.3 million KRW.


Kim Se-won, President of the Korea Culture & Tourism Institute, reported assets of 2.94992 billion KRW, an increase of 241.87 million KRW, Kim Hyung-hee, President of the Korea Disabled Arts & Culture Center, reported assets of 1.20446 billion KRW, an increase of 10.26 million KRW, Kim Kyu-chul, Chairman of the Game Rating and Administration Committee, reported assets of 2.51553 billion KRW, an increase of 150.45 million KRW, Jeong Gil-hwa, President of the Korea Foundation for International Cultural Exchange, reported assets of 2.32224 billion KRW, a decrease of 115.35 million KRW, and Kwak Hyo-hwan, President of the Literature Translation Institute of Korea, reported assets of 3.99222 billion KRW, a decrease of 378.84 million KRW.


Park Young-jung, CEO of the Korea Artists Welfare Foundation, reported assets of 1.6588 billion KRW, a decrease of 209.54 million KRW, and Kim Sun-ok, President of the Asia Culture Center Foundation, reported assets of 2.24922 billion KRW, an increase of 454.45 million KRW.


Choi Eung-cheon, Commissioner of the Cultural Heritage Administration, reported assets totaling 1.48863 billion KRW, including apartments, commercial buildings, and multi-family houses, and Lee Kyung-hoon, Deputy Commissioner of the Cultural Heritage Administration, reported assets of 3.09071 billion KRW.
