Choi Ji-young, Deputy Minister for International Economic Affairs at the Ministry of Economy and Finance, who owns assets worth 49.5 billion KRW, ranked first in the high-ranking public officials' asset rankings. A significant portion of Deputy Minister Choi's assets consisted of unlisted stocks held by her spouse.


According to the 'Regular Asset Change Report of High-Ranking Public Officials' disclosed by the Government Official Ethics Committee on the 28th, Deputy Minister Choi reported total assets of 49.45177 billion KRW, making her the wealthiest among 1,975 high-ranking public officials subject to reporting. This amount increased by 812.3 million KRW compared to the report from one year ago.


Deputy Minister Choi's assets were concentrated in unlisted stocks worth 44.53366 billion KRW. She holds 23,748 shares of Jeil Punggyeongchae and 200,000 shares of Punggyeongchae, both unlisted stocks, under her spouse's name.


Deputy Minister Choi reported owning a total of two apartments?one each under her and her spouse's names?in Apgujeong-dong, Gangnam-gu, Seoul, along with buildings worth a total of 3.9319 billion KRW. It was also confirmed that her spouse owns land including rice paddies and forest land valued at 100 million KRW.


Choi Sang-mok, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economy and Finance, reported assets worth 4.27605 billion KRW. Compared to one year ago, this increased by 248.9 million KRW. Deputy Prime Minister Choi owns real estate worth 2.12692 billion KRW, including an apartment in Dongja-dong, Yongsan-gu, held under his spouse's name.


Deputy Prime Minister Choi reported total deposits amounting to 2.64498 billion KRW, of which 1.08209 billion KRW were in his own name. Additionally, he holds government bonds (440 million KRW) and listed stocks (33.93 million KRW) worth a total of 473.92 million KRW under his and his spouse's eldest son's names.


Kim Byung-hwan, First Deputy Minister, and Kim Yoon-sang, Second Deputy Minister of the Ministry of Economy and Finance, reported assets of 649.03 million KRW and 3.64375 billion KRW, respectively. Their assets decreased by 48.14 million KRW and 170.45 million KRW compared to one year ago.
