Gwangjin-gu (District Mayor Kim Kyung-ho) designated the period from the 11th to the 31st of this month as the "Spring Cleaning Week" and thoroughly cleaned the city to remove the fine dust, grime, and garbage accumulated throughout the winter and welcome the new spring.

During the cleaning period, the district deployed a total of 14 vehicles and equipment, including 5 water cleaning trucks, 5 dust suction trucks, and 4 street cleaning vehicles. Daily water and dust cleaning were conducted on major roads such as Cheonho-daero and Achasan-ro, as well as main arterial roads and general streets. Areas around multi-use facilities such as subway stations, Dong Seoul Terminal, and bus stops were also thoroughly washed.

Public facilities along the main roads were carefully inspected and cleaned. Departments managed and maintained facilities such as ▲street trash bins ▲street flower pots and roadside deposits ▲sidewalk facilities ▲rainwater drains ▲fallen leaf waste to contribute to a pleasant spring environment.

In particular, on the 27th from 8 a.m. for two hours, the district held the "Spring Cleaning Day." Over 100 residents, organizations, and staff participated in a large-scale environmental cleanup. Trash was collected and cleanliness was intensively managed even in vulnerable areas such as side streets and alleys. The "Sweep in front of my house and my store" campaign was conducted to encourage active participation from residents in creating a clean neighborhood.

Kim Kyung-ho, Mayor of Gwangjin-gu, said, "By working together to remove the old grime, the streets have become clean and it feels good. I deeply thank all the residents who participated in the cleaning." He added, "Since this is a period when fine dust and yellow dust frequently occur, please take care of your health. We will continue to do our best to create a clean and safe Gwangjin-gu through thorough cleaning administration."

Meanwhile, the district is striving to create a clean and hygienic urban environment by implementing a six-day-a-week garbage collection system, operating a cleanliness task force, and expanding equipment to crack down on illegal dumping.
