Gwangyang Economic Zone Authority Holds On-site Meeting with Foreign-invested Companies

Practical Environmental Field Lectures for Foreign-Invested Companies in the Jurisdiction

The Gwangyang Bay Area Free Economic Zone Authority (Commissioner Song Sang-rak, hereinafter Gwangyang Economic Authority) announced that on the 26th, it held the "2024 First Half Foreign-Invested Companies On-Site Meeting" at the 2nd-floor situation room of the Gwangyang Economic Authority, attended by more than 30 representatives of foreign-invested companies (hereinafter foreign-invested companies) in the jurisdiction.

At this meeting, Dr. Cho Seung-hee from the Jeonnam Research Institute gave a practical lecture on the theme of "Gwangyang Bay Area Climate Crisis and Response Strategies," explaining response measures for foreign-invested companies, and an environmental permit officer dispatched by KOTRA from the Ministry of Environment guided administrative procedures related to environmental permits.

A representative of a foreign-invested company who participated in the meeting said, "It was a useful time because we could easily understand the necessary matters for corporate management regarding procedures from planning to installation and operation of environmental facilities at the factory, and we could ask questions about any concerns."

Since 2022, the Gwangyang Economic Authority has conducted three practical lectures that provide substantial help for foreign-invested companies' management, such as import/export customs clearance, personnel and labor, and residence visas.

Song Sang-rak, Commissioner of the Gwangyang Economic Authority, said, "We will continuously promote initiatives by identifying the needs necessary for corporate management so that foreign-invested companies can successfully settle in our region."
