Prime Minister Han Duck-soo has decided to meet with medical sector representatives soon for a dialogue. This is a follow-up measure after President Yoon Seok-yeol urged the medical community, which is currently engaged in collective action opposing medical reform, to engage in constructive talks.

On the afternoon of the 24th, the Prime Minister's Office stated, "Regarding President Yoon's request for Prime Minister Han to consult with the party to devise a flexible approach and hold constructive talks with the medical sector, the Prime Minister's Office has begun preparatory work for dialogue between the government and the medical community."

They added, "We plan to arrange a meeting between Prime Minister Han and medical sector representatives as soon as possible in consultation with the medical community."

Earlier, President Yoon, at the request of Han Dong-hoon, Chairman of the People Power Party Emergency Response Committee, told Prime Minister Han to "form a constructive consultative body with medical professionals and promote dialogue."

Chairman Han held a private meeting in the afternoon at Seoul Sinchon Severance Hospital with the chairpersons of the National Council of Medical School Professors and then requested President Yoon to handle the administrative suspension of licenses for residents leaving medical sites more flexibly.

A senior government official said, "Although the ruling party, government, and medical community have differing positions on medical reform, all agree on the need to promptly resolve the public's suffering and anxiety," adding, "The ruling party and government will closely consult to achieve meaningful consensus through meetings between the government and the medical community."
