Famous Hollywood actress Cameron Diaz, who is 51 years old this year, has announced the birth of her second child.
On the 23rd (local time), foreign media including the AP reported that Diaz announced the birth of her son through their Instagram along with her musician husband Benji Madden (45) the day before.
Diaz said, "We are very grateful to welcome our son, Cardinal Madden, into our family. We feel blessed." She added, "We are all very happy that our son was born," but also said, "We will not post any photos for the child's safety and privacy." She also wrote, "The baby is really cute and amazing. Sending love to everyone," and "I hope only good things come your way."
Diaz married Madden, a member of the band Good Charlotte, in 2015, and in 2020, at the age of 47, she embraced her first daughter, Raddix. At that time, Diaz also did not disclose photos or detailed information about her daughter to protect her privacy. However, it was revealed that she made great efforts to conceive but faced difficulties and eventually had her daughter through a surrogate.
Diaz did not announce her pregnancies for either of her two births and only shared the news after the children were born.
Diaz debuted in 1994 with the movie Mask alongside Jim Carrey and was one of the top actresses leading Hollywood through the 2000s. Her representative works include My Best Friend's Wedding, There's Something About Mary, and Charlie's Angels. She stopped acting after the 2014 film Annie and suddenly announced her retirement four years later. At that time, Diaz explained her retirement by saying, "I had to show myself to the public for more than half of my life, so I needed to have my own time and redefine my life."
However, she reversed her retirement and resumed acting in 2022 with the Netflix film Back in Action after eight years. It is known that she devoted herself to an organic wine business during her break from acting.
