Secured 187.1 Billion KRW in National and Provincial Funds
Yongin City in Gyeonggi Province announced on the 24th that it will establish a total of seven new sewage pipelines to improve water quality and prevent flood damage during the rainy season. The city plans to invest a budget of 230.9 billion KRW, including 187.1 billion KRW secured from national and provincial funds.
The public sewage pipeline maintenance projects currently underway include ▲Namsa, Gomae, and Cheonri sewage pipeline maintenance ▲Chugye, Dongnim, and Yongin (Jubuk-ri) sewage pipeline maintenance ▲Namsa and Gomae sewage pipeline maintenance ▲Yongin collector pipeline improvement ▲Yongin and Chugye sewage pipeline maintenance ▲Pungdeokcheon district flood damage area improvement ▲Ilsan natural disaster risk improvement district maintenance, totaling seven projects.
Among these, the 'Namsa, Gomae, and Cheonri treatment area sewage pipeline maintenance project' has completed the design service and is scheduled to begin construction in June. This project will have a budget of 25.9 billion KRW and will install 28.6 km of sewage pipelines, drainage facilities for 462 households, and 14 manhole pump stations.
The 'Chugye, Dongnim, and Yongin (Jubuk-ri) treatment area sewage pipeline maintenance project' is expected to complete the design service in June and start construction in October. This project, with a total investment of 20.8 billion KRW, will receive 14.5 billion KRW in national funds.
The remaining five projects are also receiving national funding and are currently undergoing design services. The city plans to complete all seven projects in phases from 2027 to 2028.
A city official stated, "We will systematically expand sewage facilities to improve the water quality of public water bodies and prevent flooding and disasters to create a safe environment. We will continue to address urgent issues so that citizens can live in safe and comfortable residential spaces."
