Chinese President Xi Jinping sent a message of condolence to Russian President Vladimir Putin on the 22nd (local time) regarding the shooting terror attack that occurred at a concert hall on the outskirts of Moscow, Russia.
According to China's state-run news agency Xinhua on the 23rd, President Xi stated in the condolence message, "I was shocked to learn that the terrorist attack caused massive casualties," and "On behalf of the Chinese government and people, I express my deepest condolences to the victims."
President Xi added, "I sincerely extend my condolences to the injured and the families of the victims."
He also said, "China opposes all forms of terrorism and strongly condemns terrorist acts," and "We firmly support the efforts of the Russian government to safeguard national security and stability."
The Chinese Embassy in Russia stated that there are currently no reports of Chinese casualties from this terror attack.
Earlier, at the 'Crocus City Hall' concert venue in Krasnogorsk, northwest of Moscow, a mass shooting and arson terror attack occurred just before a concert attended by thousands, resulting in at least 60 deaths and over 140 injuries. Immediately after the shooting, the Islamic extremist armed group Islamic State (IS) claimed responsibility for the attack.
