Doctor's Recommendation... Performance Suspended Until the 27th of Next Month

Pianist Lim Yunchan has canceled his overseas performance schedule for two weeks due to health issues.
Lim Yunchan's global management company, IMG Artists, announced on the 23rd through their website that “Lim Yunchan's performances from the 27th of this month to the 10th of next month have been canceled.”
The canceled performances include a collaboration with the London Royal Philharmonic Orchestra on the 27th of this month, the Peralada Festival in Spain on the 30th, the Gewandhaus in Leipzig on the 6th of next month, Wigmore Hall in London on the 8th, and the Milan Conservatory on the 10th.
IMG Artists stated, “Lim Yunchan has been experiencing strain in his hand and is receiving medical treatment and physical therapy,” adding, “Following the doctor's recommendation, he has decided to suspend the upcoming concerts.”
They further explained, “The cancellation of performances is to allow time for recovery from the injury and to prevent future recurrence.”
Lim Yunchan also personally announced the cancellation on his Instagram. He said, “Performing and sharing music is my great joy,” and added, “I am heartbroken that I cannot hold these concerts and sincerely apologize for disappointing everyone.”
He added, “I look forward to performing with these amazing orchestras and at these venues in the near future.”
Lim Yunchan rose to international fame as the youngest winner at age 18 in the 2022 Van Cliburn International Piano Competition, performing Beethoven’s Piano Concerto No. 3 and Rachmaninoff’s Piano Concerto No. 3.
Since then, he has continued touring overseas, with scheduled collaborations with the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra in the United States on the 25th, 26th, and 28th of next month. Domestically, he will hold recitals at seven venues nationwide starting with a concert in Seoul on June 7.
Lim Yunchan is also preparing to release a new album next month. Universal Music announced the release of Lim Yunchan’s first album under an exclusive recording contract with the prestigious classical label Decca, titled “Chopin: Etudes,” and pre-released the track “Tristesse” on the 21st of last month. The full 27-track album will be released on April 19.
