On the 21st, Sookmyung Women's University announced that it held an event at the Microsoft Korea headquarters in Jongno-gu, Seoul, for university students aspiring to enter the IT industry to experience MS's job roles and organizational culture. This event was part of the Ministry of Employment and Labor's University Job Plus Center project, with participation from four women's universities in Seoul, including Sookmyung Women's University, Duksung Women's University, Seoul Women's University, and Sungshin Women's University.
The event, opened with a welcome speech by Cho Won-woo, CEO of Microsoft Korea, featured programs such as 'Profiles That Increase Employment Opportunities Through Data' and themed group mentoring sessions. A balance game about Microsoft's organizational culture was also conducted.
In the themed group mentoring sessions, 23 professionals from various fields served as mentors, providing students with employment-related information. Kim Ye-won, a student in the Department of Business Administration at Sookmyung Women's University, said, "It was a great opportunity to visit a global tech company and receive vivid mentoring," adding, "I appreciated receiving practical advice about actual corporate work and attitudes to prepare for employment."
Sookmyung Women's University expects this event to be an opportunity for students to explore job roles in their desired industries and resolve questions related to employment.
Previously, the Sookmyung Women's University University Job Plus Center operated the 'Information Security Talent Development Program with Microsoft' last year, the first of its kind among domestic universities.
Choi Cheol, head of the Sookmyung Women's University University Job Plus Center, stated, "The Microsoft Career Mentoring Day will be an important stepping stone for students aspiring to work in the IT field," and added, "We will continue to strive to discover employment support programs that can provide practical help."
