On the 22nd, the Doosan Yeongang Foundation awarded Professor Seo Hyung-il of Busan National University Hospital 10 million KRW, and Professors Park Joon-sung of Seoul National University Hospital and Choi Dong-ho of Hanyang University Hospital 5 million KRW each along with plaques at the '2024 Doosan Yeongang Hepatobiliary and Pancreatic Surgery Academic Award' ceremony held at the Grand Walkerhill Seoul.

Professor Seo conducted research on risk factors for delirium that can occur in elderly patients after gallbladder removal surgery and achieved significant results.
Professor Park performed a comparative analysis of the cancer staging classification revised by the American Joint Committee on Cancer (AJCC) targeting bile duct cancer patients, and Professor Choi proposed a method to improve the efficiency of liver organoid generation using chemically produced liver progenitor cells, gaining recognition in the academic community.
The Doosan Yeongang Hepatobiliary and Pancreatic Surgery Academic Award was established in 2023 to promote the development of hepatobiliary and pancreatic surgery in Korea and to encourage the research enthusiasm of surgeons in this field.
