Gwangjin District (headed by District Mayor Kim Kyungho) will provide moving expense support for single-person households relocating to Gwangjin District for the first time this year.
The "Gwangjin-IN" project, which aims to help stabilize housing for single-person households, offers up to 300,000 KRW in support to those moving within Gwangjin District or relocating from other autonomous districts in Seoul to Gwangjin District.
Additionally, to encourage a fresh start in a new home, bedding sets sponsored by Hanbit Bedding will be given to recipients.
The program is open to single-person households with an income at or below 150% of the median income, and this year, support will be provided to 30 individuals.
Applications can be submitted starting one month before the confirmed moving date. Applicants should apply through the mobile app "Gwangjin Single-Person Household Platform" and then submit the required documents via email or fax. However, basic livelihood security recipients who already receive moving expense support or similar assistance from other programs are excluded from eligibility.
For more details, inquiries can be made to the "Gwangjin District Single-Person Household Support Center" or through the "Ask Us" section of the Gwangjin Single-Person Household Platform.
Kim Kyungho, Mayor of Gwangjin District, stated, "We are working to create an environment where single-person households can build connections with neighbors and social networks," adding, "We will continue to expand diverse programs for single-person households and further strengthen support for them."
Meanwhile, Gwangjin District plans to launch various new initiatives for single-person households, including: operating the "I Protect Myself" sports program; providing education on preventing jeonse and financial fraud; and establishing and operating a special committee for the Single-Person Household Support Center for university students.
