Chungnam Dental Association Urges Establishment of 'National Institute of Dental Science' in Cheonan

Held Regular Delegates' Meeting on the 20th and Adopted Resolution

The Chungnam Dental Association has once again called for the establishment of the National Institute of Dental Science in Cheonan.

The association held its 73rd regular general assembly on the 20th and adopted a resolution urging the establishment of the National Institute of Dental Science in Cheonan.

They stated, “Although the Ministry of Health and Welfare has specified the ‘Establishment of the National Institute of Dental Science’ as a ‘President-elect’s regional pledge’ in the basic plan for oral health projects, it has not announced any policies to fulfill this pledge, resulting in unnecessary competition with other provinces and deviating from the purpose of establishing the research institute,” and emphasized, “The government must keep the presidential pledge and promptly fulfill its promise to the people.”

They added, “On the 26th of last month, President Yoon Suk-yeol officially confirmed at the ‘Public Discussion on Livelihood Issues with the People’ that the establishment of the Dental Science Institute in Cheonan is a pledge for Chungnam, once again identifying and specifying Cheonan as the optimal location for the National Institute of Dental Science,” urging the fulfillment of the president’s pledge.

Cheonan Mayor Park Sang-don said, “The president expressed a strong will to swiftly advance the pledges and current issues, including the establishment of the National Institute of Dental Science in Cheonan,” and added, “Since this is equivalent to an instruction to the relevant ministries, the Ministry of Health and Welfare must promptly fulfill the pledge.”

The resolution adopted that day is scheduled to be delivered to the Presidential Office and the Ministry of Health and Welfare.
