During the campaign, participants reaffirmed their commitment to eradicating tuberculosis and conducted tuberculosis screening and promotional activities.

Participants distributed promotional materials related to tuberculosis prevention, provided guidance and counseling on tuberculosis screening, and introduced tuberculosis symptoms.

Various side events were also held at the venue, including a tuberculosis knowledge O·X quiz and mobile tuberculosis screening with chest X-ray examinations available free of charge.

A representative of the Gwangju-Jeonnam Branch of the Korean National Tuberculosis Association explained, “Tuberculosis is a respiratory infectious disease caused by the tuberculosis bacteria, and if a cough persists for more than two weeks, a tuberculosis test should be taken. The main symptoms include cough, fever, night sweats, and weight loss.”

They added, “Tuberculosis bacteria are expelled into the air through coughing, sneezing, or talking by patients with active pulmonary tuberculosis, making it an infectious disease. Early detection and consistent treatment can lead to a complete cure, so prevention and management are important.”
