Team Leader Kim Nak-cheon stated, "Inswave’s diverse solutions are actively leading digital transformation in the financial sector," adding, "These solutions play a key role in innovating clients’ business models and providing excellent service experiences."
- Hana Bank Smart Branch/EDMS/ODS Construction Case
Next, Team Leader Kim Nak-cheon introduced the recently successfully completed first phase ICT rebuild project applying the ‘DXSquare Suite’ under the theme ‘Hana Bank Smart Branch/EDMS/ODS Construction Case.’
This project is part of Hana Bank’s next-generation project ‘Project ONE (Our New Experience),’ specifically one of the three major innovation strategies focused on channel and business innovation, involving the smart branch (PPR) advancement and electronic document management system (EDMS, BPR) portal system reconstruction.
The existing system suffered from low development productivity due to duplicate development issues and slow form loading speeds, requiring improvement.
By introducing DXSquare, form loading speed was improved approximately fivefold, and an efficient system was established to develop and operate forms for PC/tablet/smartphone using OSMU.
Additionally, business processes were improved through standardized electronic form processes using the workflow solution ‘W-XTouch,’ and customer convenience was enhanced by applying W-Sharing for real-time mirroring between smart branch PCs and tablets.
- Financial Cloud Package Proposed by Inswave
Jung Yoon-mo, Head of the Cloud Business Headquarters, explained the SaaS service and PaaS offering of DXSquare. The SaaS service is a subscription-based service that can be freely used without cloud construction, while the PaaS service builds a separate Cloud Native environment in the cloud.
These services are basically provided as SaaS, but for financial clients who cannot use public clouds like Naver Cloud or AWS due to financial regulations, they are also offered as PaaS.
Both services provide functions such as electronic forms, electronic signatures, electronic documents, screen sharing, video consultation, and workflow.
When using the financial cloud package, it is possible to ▲ containerize infrastructure while maintaining the existing architecture ▲ automate CI/CD ▲ separate common modules and services into APIs ▲ build an MSA environment that separates tasks according to existing business methodologies.
Head Jung Yoon-mo explained that using DXSquare’s SaaS/PaaS services allows for rapid, cost-effective construction and stable operation of digital branches, visible TM, electronic contracts, non-face-to-face sales, and ODS systems.
- Shinhan Bank Digital Finance Completed with WebTop
Kim Wan-su, Team Leader of the DX Business Headquarters, explained Shinhan Bank’s future-oriented digital banking system construction project, ‘Shinhan Bank The NEXT Project.’
This project was conducted in two phases to improve the aging legacy terminal ICT system used by Shinhan Bank for about 20 years since 2004. The financial integrated terminal solution ‘WebTop’ was applied, with phase one running from May 2021 to October 2022 (1 year 5 months), and phase two from November 2022 to February of this year (1 year 3 months).
In phase one, the legacy terminal composed of CS was standardized and integrated into a digital-based business platform, enabling access to multiple terminals with a single login, improving work processing speed. It also integrated distributed systems such as account systems, information systems, ODS, tablets, mobile, digital branches, BPR, and unit tasks to enhance work convenience for both face-to-face and non-face-to-face environments.
In phase two, the project expanded standardization of branch terminals and applied Next Workflow, which integratively provides processing order and related business knowledge. The core banking system was separated into face-to-face core banking and non-face-to-face digital core banking to build an optimized ICT system.
Notably, the replacement of the NEXT external system, connected to over 1,000 financial and partner institutions, resulted in a user-perceived operation speed approximately four times faster.
Shinhan Bank employees using the system gave positive feedback such as, “It is convenient because the design and readability allow everything to be seen at a glance,” “It is good for processing work because various things can be checked at once,” and “The work processing speed is very satisfactory compared to the past system.”
Additionally, Team Leader Kim Wan-su emphasized the diverse functions and responsiveness of the ‘WebTop Suite,’ noting that with the supply of WebTop to Japan’s internet specialized bank UI Bank, Inswave is expanding its financial terminal solution supply not only domestically but also to overseas markets.
- Upgrading Industrial Bank of Korea Mobile Banking
Lee Seong-bok, Deputy Head of the Strategic Marketing Headquarters, introduced the performance improvement case of Industrial Bank of Korea’s mobile banking under the theme ‘Upgrading Industrial Bank of Korea Mobile Banking.’
The existing global mobile banking of Industrial Bank of Korea faced difficulties in app operation performance and maintenance for continuous business expansion. To address this, it was upgraded to the latest engine of the web standard UI/UX solution WebSquare5 SP5, significantly increasing screen loading speed. The mobile app platform W-Matrix was applied to improve in-app and app loading procedures considering network conditions by country, enhancing speed.
In particular, the app build/deployment automation solution W-Hive was applied to add app distribution authority and approval functions, establishing an efficient app management system where approved apps are automatically deployed to stores.
- A New Dimension of Development Productivity: Frontend Development Led by WebSquare AI
CTO Kim Wook-rae began by citing Gartner’s ‘2024 Gartner Top 10 Strategic Technology Trends’ and introduced the new product ‘WebSquare AI’ under the theme ‘A New Dimension of Development Productivity: Frontend Development Led by WebSquare AI,’ focusing on AI-augmented development technology.
‘WebSquare AI’ is an AI-based low/no-code solution integrating AI technology into WebSquare5, representing a major version upgrade of WebSquare5.
The core features of ‘WebSquare AI’ utilize large language models (LLM) for AI Copilot functions, including ▲ Sketch function that generates design documents into WebSquare screens ▲ Code function that generates and auto-completes source code ▲ Q&A function that provides answers and example codes matching user questions ▲ TestCase function that generates test cases based on design documents.
Additionally, it introduced micro frontend functionality that can compose a single page by referencing distributed pages on MSA-configured servers, and quick code/no code development functions that automatically generate optimal screens by retrieving messages (specialized data) from servers.
Finally, CTO Kim Wook-rae described ‘WebSquare AI’ as a development tool that helps anyone develop easily and emphasized the importance of how AI technology, which can revolutionize developers’ work methods, should be developed and utilized in the future.
Meanwhile, since its founding in 2002, Inswave Systems has been a 22-year digital transformation (DX) solution company leading the domestic market share in the web standard UI/UX market. It boasts solid experience with over 900 clients and more than 3,000 projects completed.
