Direct On-Site Command of Disaster Prevention Projects Including Comprehensive Maintenance of Hwacheon Flood and Disaster Risk Living Zone
Jin Byeong-yeong, the governor of Hamyang-gun, Gyeongnam, conducted a safety inspection on public livelihood issues such as the improvement project of the downtown road environment and the preparation project for natural disasters in summer.
Governor Jin visited the site of the road environment improvement project around Hamyang Middle and High School and the construction site of the Gyosan-gun planned facility road to thoroughly check the progress of the construction and safety inspection matters.
According to Hamyang-gun on the 21st, the road environment improvement project around Hamyang Middle and High School is a project to open a right-turn lane within the intersection at the Gyosan-ri Hamyang Middle School intersection to facilitate smooth vehicle flow and enhance pedestrian safety, and it is being promoted with the goal of completion in April.
County Governor Jin Byeong-yeong is conducting a safety inspection at the road environment improvement project site.
In addition, the Gyosan-gun planned facility road construction project is a project to alleviate traffic congestion around a large apartment complex by investing 4.1 billion KRW to construct 250m of Jung-ro 3-10 line and 74m of Jung-ro 3-11 line respectively, and it is planned to be completed by May.
Governor Jin said, “Once the downtown road environment is improved, it will not only resolve traffic inconveniences but also greatly enhance residents' satisfaction by preventing traffic accidents,” and added, “Since this project is directly related to the living environment of the residents, please carefully oversee it until completion.”
Following this, Governor Jin visited the site of the Hwachon Flood Risk Living Zone Comprehensive Maintenance Project in Yurim-myeon, the Bangjigol Reservoir maintenance project, and the Dwi Silso stream maintenance project in Hamyang-eup to check the progress of construction and compliance with safety regulations.
The Hwachon Flood Risk Living Zone Comprehensive Maintenance Project in the Hwachon-ri to Janghang-ri area of Yurim-myeon is a project with a total budget of 31.8 billion KRW to be invested by 2026, establishing and promoting a comprehensive disaster prevention plan including 3.993 km of embankments and revetments and 18 bridges.
The Bangjigol Reservoir maintenance project is a project investing 530 million KRW to maintain 13.5m of drainage channels in the Sin-gil-ri area of Hamyang-eup to provide stable agricultural water supply, scheduled for completion by December, and the Dwi Silso stream maintenance project is a project investing a total of 690 million KRW to maintain 320m of small streams in the Jukgok-ri area of Hamyang-eup, planned for completion in June.
Governor Jin said, “Recently, many disasters caused by unexpected climate changes have occurred, so thorough preparation is necessary,” and ordered, “Please promptly complete the ongoing disaster recovery construction before the rainy season in June, and for unfinished sites, proactively prepare additional safety measures.”
