Seon-gi Lee, Deputy Governor of Hapcheon, Conducts Safety Inspection of Steep Slopes at Large Construction Sites During Thawing Season

Hapcheon-gun, Gyeongnam Province, is conducting a comprehensive safety inspection of vulnerable facilities from February 21 to April 3 during the thawing period (February to April) when the frozen ground weakens in winter.

This safety inspection aims to prevent human casualties and property damage caused by collapse, toppling, and falling rocks of facilities vulnerable during the thawing period, such as roads, retaining walls, stone walls, steep slopes, and landslide-prone areas. Relevant departments will inspect safety management facilities accordingly.

Lee Seon-gi, Deputy Governor of Hapcheon County, is conducting a safety inspection at a steep slope site of a large-scale construction project during the thawing season.

On the 20th, Vice Governor Lee Seon-gi visited two sites: the steep slope at Seosan in Hapcheon-eup and the steep slope maintenance project site on County Road No. 21 between Gapsan-ri and Naecheon-ri in Yulgok-myeon, to closely inspect rockfall risk factors. Plans are in place to thoroughly prepare for any accidents at the construction sites.

Along with the thawing period safety inspection, any resident who discovers risk factors such as facility damage can report them through the ‘Safety Report’ application.

Vice Governor Lee stated, “We will actively conduct pre-inspections of safety-vulnerable facilities, roads, mountainous areas, and steep slopes to prevent any possible accidents in advance,” and added, “We will continue to prioritize the safety of our residents and do our best to create a safe living environment free from disasters.”
