'Attracting Korean Tourists' Phuket Tourism Industry Hosts 'Travel Fair in Seoul'

5 Tourism Companies and 17 Hotels, Resorts Visiting Korea

According to the Tourism Authority of Thailand, the number of Korean tourists visiting Thailand last year was 1,375,958, ranking third after Malaysia and China.


As the number of Korean tourists visiting Thailand rapidly increases every year, it was announced on the 20th that about 30 people from 22 companies in the Phuket tourism industry visited Korea and held the 1st Phuket Travel Fair in Seoul as part of a post-COVID-19 resurgence.

According to the organizers, this Phuket Travel Fair in Seoul was voluntarily planned by local companies to expand the rapidly recovering Korean tourist visits and to promote diversification of tourism programs.


Wariya Chatte, director of Simon Show, who attended the event, said, "Simon Show is the most famous cabaret show in Phuket, performing three times a day. It has been well known to Korean tourists even before COVID-19, and the show includes cultural elements such as Korean music and Korean dance that Korean tourists would enjoy." She added, "We have cooperated and promoted for about 10 years, but after the pandemic, recognizing market changes, we revamped the show and came to Korea to introduce it to the Korean market."


Simon Show is the longest-running permanent show in Phuket, boasting a history and tradition of 34 years since its first stage in 1991.


In addition to Simon Show, introductions were made to various entertainment facilities throughout Phuket that have been newly revamped after COVID-19, such as Andaman Waterpark.

Also, at the event, The Nap Patong Resort, Noku Phuket Resort, The Naka Island Resort, Maida Grand Pool Villa Resort, Avista Hideaway Patong Resort, Andaman Embrace Patong Resort, Mandarava Resort and Spa, Morasia Pool Villa Resort, Twinpalms Resort, Sinai Phuket Resort, Grand Mercure Patong Resort, Royal Phuket City Resort, Alinta Phuket Resort, Metade Concept Resort, Namaka Resort Kalima, Phuket Emerald Beach Resort, The Marine Phuket Resort, as well as indoor entertainment show tourist spots such as Dolphins Bay Nemo Phuket, Simon Cabaret Phuket, theme water park Banana Beach Kohe, and adventure park Hanuman World participated and conducted one-on-one travel mart consultations with Korean tourism industry officials.


A representative of the Phuket tourism industry who attended the Travel Fair in Seoul said, "Phuket, a representative resort for Korean families and couples, has the best tourism infrastructure that provides healing and diverse enjoyment, and we came to Korea to promote this." He added, "We hope you will definitely visit Phuket, the eternal steady seller, and experience healing."
