Increased by 84 million KRW Compared to the Previous Year
Jung Yong-jin, chairman of Shinsegae Group, received approximately 3.7 billion KRW in compensation from Emart last year. This amount is 84 million KRW (2.3%) higher than the 3.615 billion KRW he received the previous year.
According to Emart's business report on the 20th, Chairman Jung received a total of 3.699 billion KRW from Emart last year, including a salary of 1.982 billion KRW and a bonus of 1.717 billion KRW.
Emart stated, "Chairman Jung's salary reflects his position, job nature, performance results, and contribution to the company," and added, "The bonus was determined based on sales of 15.1419 trillion KRW and operating profit of 188 billion KRW amid challenging internal and external business environments."
Jung's mother, Lee Myung-hee, Shinsegae Group General Chairwoman, and father, Jung Jae-eun, Shinsegae Group Honorary Chairman, each received 3.065 billion KRW from Emart last year.
According to the Shinsegae business report released on the 13th, Jung Yong-jin’s younger sister, Jung Yoo-kyung, Shinsegae General President, received 3.686 billion KRW in compensation from Shinsegae last year, a 5.1% increase from the previous year.
The annual salary of General Chairwoman Lee Myung-hee and her husband from Shinsegae last year was not disclosed. Compensation details are only revealed for the top five individuals receiving payments of 500 million KRW or more. As former Shinsegae President Kwon Hyuk-gu, who retired last year, received severance pay, the General Chairwoman and her husband fell outside the top five salary rankings.
The General Chairwoman and her husband received a total of 4.684 billion KRW in 2022, including 1.499 billion KRW from Shinsegae and 3.185 billion KRW from Emart, respectively.
