Establishment of Regional Integrated Home Care Headquarters
Providing Services Such as Bathing, Nursing, and Hospital Accompaniment
Careing, a nursing care service startup, announced on the 20th that it will establish an integrated home care headquarters in Gwangju following Busan and participate in the integrated home care pilot project hosted by the National Health Insurance Service under the Ministry of Health and Welfare.
The integrated home care service is a system that allows long-term care recipients to conveniently use various nursing services such as home care, nursing, bathing, day and night care, and short-term care at a single long-term care institution. Careing is also building integrated home care infrastructure such as day care centers and home care centers to provide high-quality nursing services nationwide.
Careing currently operates a total of 34 directly managed stores, including 14 day care centers, 14 home care centers, 4 caregiver training institutes, and 2 welfare equipment centers in Seoul, Gyeonggi, Busan, Daegu, and Gyeongnam, and plans to expand its nursing infrastructure to more than 100 locations by 2025.
To this end, Careing divides the country into four regions: the Seoul metropolitan area (Seoul, Incheon, Gyeonggi, Gangwon), Yeongnam area (Busan, Daegu, Ulsan, Gyeongbuk, Gyeongnam), Honam area (Gwangju, Jeonbuk, Jeonnam), and Chungcheong area (Daejeon, Sejong, Chungbuk, Chungnam). It established its first integrated home care headquarters in Busan in July last year and is expanding into the Honam area. Within the headquarters’ region, even if there is no Careing directly managed store, it is possible to provide organic integrated home care services such as nursing, bathing, nursing care, mobility support, and hospital accompaniment.
Careing is set to fully activate integrated home care services in the Gwangju area and expand the currently operated two directly managed stores, including day care centers and home care centers, to five locations. It will introduce wheelchair-accessible vehicles and start a hospital safe accompaniment service. Additionally, it plans to expand nursing infrastructure to Gunsan in Jeonbuk and Yeosu in Jeonnam within the year. Furthermore, it plans to open a day care center in Changwon, Gyeongnam this month and recruit local talent to promote coexistence with the local community.
Kim Taesung, CEO of Careing, said, “Once Careing’s nationwide directly managed stores are established, we will be able to provide organically connected nursing services necessary for a healthy old age,” adding, “We aim to become a company that provides everything needed for old age, from consultations for long-term care to community linkage.”
