Final Selection After Feasibility Review and Other Processes

The Changdong Internet Addiction Prevention Counseling Center in Seoul, operated under consignment by Samyook University, has been selected for the '2024 Dobong-gu Youth Participatory Budget Proposal Project.'


This project is a system that guarantees the practical participation of youth by allowing local youth to directly propose and decide on projects and budgets they need. Projects proposed through the public contest undergo feasibility review by the project department, deliberation by the Youth Participation Committee, youth voting, and review by the Children and Youth Council before final selection.

According to Samyook University on the 19th, the Changdong Internet Addiction Prevention Counseling Center was selected for this project by planning an educational program called 'Low-Carbon Eco-Literacy' targeting youth. The program uses media familiar to youth to convey proper low-carbon living and encourages practicing resource circulation in daily life through low-carbon goods.


Jung Sung-jin, Chairperson of the Changdong Internet Addiction Prevention Counseling Center's Operating Committee, said, "We hope that the youth participating in the program will enhance their understanding of proper low-carbon living through familiar media and also develop their digital literacy skills."


Opened in 2010, the Changdong Internet Addiction Prevention Counseling Center is operated by Samyook University under consignment from the Seoul Metropolitan Government. It runs various customized programs such as psychological counseling, preventive education, and media dysfunction prevention and healing board games to address smartphone (internet) overdependence issues among children and youth in Nowon-gu, Dobong-gu, and Jungnang-gu.
