Kakao Unveils 'Mini Emoticons' You Can Combine Freely

Kakao unveiled the 'Mini Emoticons,' a mini version of Kakao emoticons, on the 19th. Mini Emoticons are small-sized emoticons that can express various objects along with text.

The newly introduced Mini Emoticons include three types: 'A Day of Chunsik,' featuring the cute appearance of Chunsik; 'Pink Pink Apeach,' with lovely Apeach characters gathered together; and 'Mini Stationery,' which contains various tool images. KakaoTalk users can download all three Mini Emoticons from the promotion page and use them for free forever.

Mini Emoticons are characterized by their ability to be freely used alongside text within KakaoTalk chat bubbles. When used alone, they can also be displayed in a larger size like traditional emoticons, allowing for versatile sizing. Additionally, Mini Emoticons can be combined with each other to create fun conversational content.

For example, by combining the 'Chunsik Face' Mini Emoticon with the 'Chunsik Legs' Mini Emoticon, users can depict Chunsik running, or they can include various object Mini Emoticons intermittently within text to decorate messages in an entertaining way.

Kakao plans to expand the KakaoTalk chat experience through Mini Emoticons and provide new opportunities for existing creators to grow the creator ecosystem. After launch, user feedback and creator opinions will be thoroughly collected and reflected.

Kim Ji-hyun, head of Kakao's Digital Item Team, said, "We plan to introduce various Mini Emoticons in the future after reviewing their marketability and usability," adding, "We will continue to explore diverse ways to enrich conversations between users within KakaoTalk."
