The Ministry of Employment and Labor and the Human Resources Development Service of Korea announced on the 19th that the service of the 'Job Competency Bank,' which integrates and manages various job competency information, will be expanded.
Launched in September last year, the Job Competency Bank allows individuals to 'save' and integrate their job competency information such as qualifications, training, education, and career, and to receive it in the form of a 'Job Competency Certificate' when needed, which can be used for employment and personnel placement.
It provides access to records of national technical qualifications obtained through certification and course evaluation types, training history from the Work-Learning Card, and completion history of Polytech education courses.
Starting today, employment insurance subscription history, lifelong learning account system study history, individual business registration information, national defense qualifications (12 categories), and military job career information will be added.
Until now, during job search or career change, employment history at previous companies (employment insurance subscription history) had to be certified by the Korea Workers' Compensation and Welfare Service, business operation history by the National Tax Service, and lifelong learning account study history by the Ministry of Education, but the Ministry of Labor explained that such inconveniences will now disappear.
Kwon Tae-sung, Director of the Vocational Competency Policy Bureau at the Ministry of Employment and Labor, said, "We are currently consulting with the Ministry of Education to link specialized curriculum completion information of vocational high school students within the first half of the year," and added, "In the second half, we will also strengthen employment service functions such as customized training recommendations using Job Competency Bank information."
