Kookmin University (President Seungryeol Jeong) LINC 3.0 Project Group announced that it held the inauguration ceremony for the 2nd Community Coexistence Researchers on the 13th at the Kookmin University Headquarters Building.
At the inauguration ceremony, an orientation explaining various region-customized talent development programs participating as Community Coexistence Researchers was held, along with a commissioning ceremony for the Community Coexistence Researchers.
The 2nd Community Coexistence Researchers were selected through fierce competition from various departments and majors such as Public Administration and Bio-pharmaceuticals, with 12 students chosen. The selected students will participate in various activities linking and collaborating between the university and the local community, including research for creating local community value and regional development, ESG business model education, and regular Community Coexistence forums.
Hyun-sang Ha, Director of the Community Coexistence Center (Dean of the Graduate School of Public Administration at Kookmin University), stated, “For the local community to achieve sustainable development, the university needs to actively participate in revitalizing learning communities among local residents, and students, who are the owners of the university, need to take more interest and participate in the local community.” He added, “The diverse experiences and education for students aimed at community development will provide a good opportunity to enhance students’ problem-solving capabilities and will serve as a foundation for the coexistence of the university and the community.”
The 2nd Community Coexistence Researchers are scheduled to be active until September this year, and recruitment for the 3rd Community Coexistence Researchers will take place in August.
