A Cockroach-Like Bug Found in Finished Jjamppong
When Complained, "We Will Refund the Fried Rice Price"
Jjamppong, a delicious dish loved by many for a long time. Just as you slurp up the noodles and are about to drink the broth, a black object catches your eye. The object turns out to be none other than a cockroach. A story has spread about a cockroach appearing while eating jjamppong at a Chinese restaurant, sparking controversy.
On the 17th, a post titled "Cockroach came out of jjamppong broth while eating at a restaurant" was uploaded on an online community. As of 9 a.m. on the 18th, the post has garnered 749,050 views and about 2,700 recommendations, making it a hot topic.
In the photo posted by user A, a bug presumed to be a cockroach is seen floating in the jjamppong broth, with the noodles already eaten and only some broth left. When the bug was scooped out and transferred to another bowl, it was possible to see the antennae intact and the legs curled from being boiled at high temperature in more detail.
A said, "I called the part-timer and told them (that a cockroach came out), and they said they would ask the owner. After a while, they said, 'We'll deduct the price of one fried rice.' I said (refund) was not necessary, paid the full price for the food, and left. Where should I report this?"
Netizens who saw the story responded with comments such as, "Even a full refund would be insufficient, but they only offered to refund the fried rice price," "It seems possible to file a lawsuit," "Cockroach jjamppong. That would be traumatic," "The broth must have been infused with cockroach," "I think I would have vomited as soon as I saw it," "It's amazing that it was discovered after eating everything," "Why did you pay and leave? I would sue," and "It's fortunate that only half a cockroach was found."
